The Multi-media Center provides a laboratory setting
and educational environment that encourages innovations that can
be applied to news organizations. It has all the required hardware
and current software tools for TV,
radio, print, web and multimedia publishing. Recording and editing
workstations utilize iMac machines and state-of-the-art software
tools for mixing sound and editing for TV, radio and multimedia.
Television studio and its anchor station are equipped with high
resolution video cameras.
Students learn to use software programs and study
the kinds of production work being done by television channels,
radio stations, newspapers, magazines and web publications.
While the focus is always on quality journalism,
the Center familiarizes the student with the use of technology --computers,
video cameras, sound recording, multimedia, interactivity, video
and audio editing, and the coding language that makes Web pages.
The Center works closely with professional and trade
organizations to identify industry best-practices.
