A documentary on the discrimination of muslims in India post independence and the current identity crisis of the community due to fear of this discrimination. The shocking thing is the Karnataka Minister of Minorities blames the community itself for the treatment meted out to it.

Windmills of God

Rural Karnataka faces real power crunch as they are not catered the needed capacity of electricity. Even though major consumer category of electricity in Karnataka is agriculture, mainly for irrigation practices, farmers of many districts wait for rains to irrigate the field.

Karnataka government is trying to overcome the problem of shortage of electricity by using renewable sources of energy like wind, solar, hydel and solid waste. Karnataka generates 6000MW power of electricity out of which 2253 MW power of electricity comes from renewable energy.  Wind energy plays larger role as it generates 60 percent of total capacity of electricity generated by all the renewable energy.

The porters or coolies are an essential part of any train journey in India. There was a time when getting a license 'badge' to work as a coolie was prestigious. Some of the coolies in this documentary worked with Amitabh Bachchan shooting for the hit film 'Coolie'. Since then life has changed. Television Master's Thesis

Silken Tangles
Director: Vineetha Athrey

Sidlaghatta is known for its silk. The facts and figures say it all— daily production levels of about 10 – 14 tonnes, daily transaction levels of 45 – 65 tonnes, and a unique zari that is famous all over India.

Yet, the place suffers. The documentary looks at the problems of not just the industry, but also the silk reelers who have to eke a living with meager funds, most of which are spent on healthcare.
