Deeptha Rao is an advocate whose main areas of work include gender and sexuality, domestic violence and media law. She teaches the Law and Ethics in Journalism course.

Deeptha is a co-founding member of Raahi, an organisation that supports members of the LGBTQIA+ community in crisis cases, and QAMRA, a multimedia archive that aims to chronicle and preserve memories of the queer movement in India. She has been engaging with students on Law and Ethics since 2015.
